Senior is the fourth studio album by Norwegian electronic music duo Röyksopp. It was released on 8 September 2010 by Wall of Sound. Consisting of instrumental tracks only, the album is described as more introspective and withdrawn than its predecessor, Junior 2009. Röyksopp: Senior Full Album. Tobias Enstrom. Just as autumn must follow summer, Senior must follow Junior. Röyksopp's poppy, peppy record from 2009, Junior included guest-star vocalists, bright effects, and catchy melodies Röyksopp's dreamy, downtempo record from 2010, Senior includes neither vocals nor much in the way of four-four beats. Listen free to Röyksopp Senior . and the Forest Began to Sing, Tricky Two and more. 10 tracks 54:17. Senior is the fourth studio album by Röyksopp. It was released on 13 September 2010 via Wall of Sound. Senior album. Just better. To promote Senior, Röyksopp released a 10-minute film titled Röyksopp's Adventures in Barbieland on 6 August 2010, containing six tracks from the album. Directed by Andreas Nilsson, the film shows Röyksopp living as two elderly musicians in a house full of Barbie dolls. Röyksopp are set to release the counterpart to last years critically acclaimed Junior album on the 13th September. More introspective and freeform than its poppier partner and fully instrumental, the Nordic electronic pioneers Svein Berge and Torbjorn Brundtland recorded Senior at the same time as Junior and it finds Royksopp in fine form. Royksopp explain: The two albums Junior and Senior have a kinship, in that they represent Röyksopps two very different artistic expressions. Röyksopp - Senior 2010. To favorites 9 Download album. It is sad to say that this is the / my first time, not telling to love an album made by Röyksopp. I really fell in love with these guys, when I first had a listen to songs like 'Eple', 'What Else Is There', 'Follow My Ruin' or 'This Must Be It'. It was not just listening to the music, that was amazing to me. It was the feeling those albums gave for a very long time. It was warm, you could feel how deep they were and how much work was put into them. This time all I can hear is sound stringed together, maybe because the release time came closer and there was no time to have a second master listen. Already the beginning sound like rubbish to me - and you can check this too - just listen to the gap between track 1 and 2. It sounds like a self-made multi-artist disc, those two tracks don't fit to each other in any way. 'Tricky Two' is really annoying, thought you are hearing the same sound that you've been listening on 'Junior' over and over again. The whole album sounds odd and cheap, not worth the expensive price for a latest release. But, stop! There are some great tracks too, I don't want to miss. Such as 'Coming Home', 'Forsaken Cowboy', 'Senior Living' and 'The Alcoholic' (already known from Röyksopp's live-shows). The rest is.. I don't have a clue! I think if they had released an extended play it would be enough and some of the unmentioned songs could be prepared for their "Track Of The Month" download list. Apart from the money I wasted to buy this japanese release for nothing at all (no bonus song-booklet, stickers or a kind of artwork-book) I feel really ashamed for those two guys. I expected a lot of more, fresh sound, deepness, musical landscapes and a feeling for art. What the hell was the designer smoking when finishing this cover design? I know there should be two grandpa-heads on the cover scene, but all I can see is a black square - I was sure I kept my eyes in a healthy condition... I am missing the good old times and hoping you are not going on this way, Junior - Senior - Elder. Please try again Röyksopp, please try again.
Sorry, I'm not. I am just telling what I am thinking. I am a Röyksopp fanatican for years, collecting all their releases I can get as far as possible and listening to all the stuff they made public. This release is embarrassing in its wholeness. I know alot of people will hate me for this, but who cares.
You're kidding right...?
