Notes

UK 1st Pressing from 1978 and part of the UK 'Peckings' Studio One releases (PSOL 001, PSOL 002 & PSOL 003).

Came with a 'Senol Printing' Laminated Cover. Was distributed by 'Peckings Studio 1 Record Shop 142 Askew Road London W12'.
Although this release had a UK Cover and UK labels, in truth, all copies had standard Jamaican vinyl with UK labels 'overstuck' on the record.

All UK 1st Pressings have the UK Cover, some have the UK labels, some have one, and some simply have the Jamaican labels instead (where clearly the distributor had run out of labels!). All UK 1st Pressings have the 'deep groove' labels, and CN 3786 SIDE A & CN 3786 SIDE B matrixes.

Album

What Kind of World is the debut album from Jamaican vocal trio The Cables. It was released in 1970 by Studio One, and collects tracks from singles the group recorded for the label. Backing was provided by Studio One house band the Soul Vendors, which included musicians such as Jackie Mittoo, Eric Frater, and Leroy Sibbles. The album has been described as a masterpiece of early reggae, and the most perfect of Studio One vocal albums. The album was re-issued on CD in 1991 by Heartbeat Records. Let Them Talk 10. Love Is a Pleasure Baby Why and the title track are the obvious points of entry - they've both been heavily versioned over the years and their rhythms remain firm favorites. A classic Jamaican rocksteady harmony trio, the Cables Keeble Drummond, Elbert Stewart, and Vince Stoddard came together in the late '60s, and although they produced some of the best cuts in the genre, they were woefully under-recorded. Yet there's an exception to every rule, and the Cables are it. The vocal trio's timing was atrocious, a little-known rocksteady trio who arrived at Studio One just as the genre breathed its last. Still, the Soul Vendors, the label's house band during this time, weren't ready to totally turn their backs on the past, instead just slightly shifting the focus of their sound. Album 1970 10 Songs. Why has this been blocked from sale??? Isn't this the original UK issue?
Ironrunner
Original UK pressing blocked from sale?? Fair plays if it was a dodgy repress, but I thought Peckings did everything in the UK through their friendship with C S Dodd..?
